| Bardonecchia is based on the French-Italian border and is one of the pioneer resorts that participated in the growth of winter sports in Italy. It combines small village charm and modern equipment so well that it has become one of the favourite Italian alpine resorts for tourists. Bardonecchia has organised numerous international skiing competitions during the winter season and has been chosen to host the snowboard competition for the Olympic Games in Turin in 2006. The resort is easily accessible as it is based next to the Fréjus tunnel and can be reached by the motorway and international train station.
The ski area is shared by two massifs and benefits from both the Italian sunshine and the snowfall from the North Alps. 110 km of perfectly maintained ski runs snake their way along open plateaus and through fir forests and guarantee satisfaction to all lovers of snow sports.
